The BEST Birthday Party EVER! Part 3.

Here is the final post on Cupe's birthday party!

I just bought a basic package of party hats from Party City and I added some stickers to them.  I bought these stickers from a seller on Etsy.  These stickers were actually dated in the 90's (I think, I threw away the packaging).  I was a bit worried they wouldn't be sticky but they were!  I was very happy to have found them!

Here's a picture of the party hats displayed with some treats:

The bowl on the left is full of yellow, orange and turquoise gummy bears.  On the right is a plate of white chocolate apples (lowly worm drives an apple car) that I made.  The orange bucket in the middle is full of cookies that Cupe and I made (well, she tasted more than made!).  They are called playdough cookies because of the bright colors, they are really yummy sugar cookies! Here is another picture:

A final birthday party picture! I didn't take a great picture of the things hanging on the curtains but they are yellow, aqua and orange circles that I cut out with the cricut along with circles with the busytown characters.  I attached them to ribbon with my pink ATG gun!

I had so much fun putting this party together and making all the decorations!  My sweet Cupe loved her party so I couldn't be happier!!

The BEST Birthday Party EVER! Part 2.

Cupe's party was not big but I really wanted to have a lot of personal touches throughout the living room, hallway and dining room where we would be spending our time.  Yesterday I showed you some of the pictures I framed to put around the house.  Here are some more personalized touches that I added.

I used Photoshop Elements to create this, just something simple to add a personal touch! I blurred out Cupe's name (I am sure it's not that big of a deal but just wanted to be safe!).

Here is subway art I made:

This was also made using Photoshop Elements.  I actually got the idea from Alison at Oopsey Daisy.  I personalized it by adding nicknames and her favorite things.  I love subway art!!

Here's the Cake/Cupcake Table:

Isn't the cake adorable?  I didn't make her cake this year.  I knew that I would have major time issues if I did so I ordered it from a wonderful bakery!  I did make all of the other treats for her party though including the cupcakes that are around the cake! The buckets are party favors for the kids. They have a giant lollipop with a label I made Thanking them for celebrating with Cupe.  The jars are cupcakes (yes, I made them!) for the adults to take home with them.  They have a thank you label on the top.  Here's a cupcake in the jar close-up:

They are very easy and fun to make! They are homemade vanilla cupcakes with homemade buttercream frosting!

I will post part 3 of cupe's party soon!

The BEST Birthday Party EVER! Part 1.

My sweet cupe had her 4th birthday recently! She wanted a Busytown birthday party (she loves lowly worm and huckle). I looked everywhere for decorations with that theme but there really is nothing out there! So what is a girl to do? I went to work creating my own decorations for her BEST BIRTHDAY PARTY EVER! The colors we went with were turquoise/aqua,, yellow and orange with a bit of red thrown in.  I figured that even without too many actual Busytown decorations I could pull everything together with color.
Invitations:

Who, What, When, Where, Why, How? Are from Busytown Mysteries (tv show).

Decorations:

I used my cricut expression to cut out the apple shapes to make this. They are cut at 2 inches. I added random Busytown characters that I cut out from books. I used the center cut setting.

I mounted them on foam board using pop dots for dimension.  I just put the foam board into the frame and taped the back.

Here are the table centerpieces:

I found the picture holders at Michaels and then I used my Cricut to make circles to mount pictures of Cupe from her birth and each birthday she has had.  In the center I had little buckets (from target's dollar section) that I put some orange flowers (from Michaels) in and then added some yellow filling.  The colors gave it just the right festive touch!

The picture holders have a little insert that you can add a picture, so I added a busytown picture!

Here are the wall cut-outs I made.

I used foam board and then free-handed the characters and painted them.  They were cut out using an exacto but I think that if I ever do this again I may not use foam board.  It's too difficult to cut out!

I bought some cheap frames (dollar tree) and framed some Busytown characters and had them in various places around the living room.

I really hope you enjoy this post!  I had so much fun creating everything for the party.  I apologize for disappearing for so long, I've had a very busy few months!  I'll post part 2 before the end of the week!
